Last August 18, during the Pokemon Presents Youtube Livestream, The company announced that Pokémon Unite, originally created for Switch, will have its mobile launch on September 22, 2021.  Another good news is that Pokémon Unite Mobile will be available as a cross-platform play between Nintendo Switch & mobile (iOS & Android). This implies that Switch and mobile users will be able to play together. There are games that do not offer cross-platforms such as League of Legends: Wild Rift. According to Riot, this is decided to avoid creating inequalities in the competitive interaction of the games, cross-play with PCs and mobile devices is disabled.

The advantage of cross-platform games is that users can log in to their accounts using another device. If your Switch console dies in the middle of the game, you can switch to your phone easily.  Phones are also more accessible than Switch. Today, a Switch console costs around Php 10,000-23,000.

For those who are new to role-playing action games, Pokémon Unite is a free-to-start game which means there are in-game purchases to boost your gameplay. Pokémon Unite is the cross-over of Pokémon world and multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBA) games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Mobile Legends. The map and controls are also similar to other real-time strategy games, this means players who are not new to playing MOBA games will not have a hard time familiarizing themselves with Pokémon Unite.

As a preparation for the release day, users will not be able to play due to server maintenance.

So go get your phones ready and UNITE with your friends. Gotta catch ‘em all!
