For your sweet cravings, there’s a better way you can enjoy baked goodies such as brownies, crinkles, cookies, and more with the online community Bake For Better Sale. Through this channel, bakers and sweets lovers are encouraged to contribute and donate to various causes with every purchase of delectable goodies made by local microbusinesses. So you’re not just enjoying food for yourself, but also raising awareness and helping out charities and fundraisers.

 

In an IG post, they mention, “Online posts for awareness on social issues definitely go a long way, but we wanted to take the extra step to create a measurable impact on the Filipino community.” They add, “Funding alone may not be enough for many NGOs and charities in the Philippines, but we hope to help in any way we can.” 

By gathering volunteer bakers, it has since produced P131,848.07 from July 1-8 with proceeds that went to The Home for the Golden Gays⁣, TODA Katipunan Tricycle Drivers⁣, National Union of Journalists of the Philippines⁣, Sucat-Baclaran Jeepney Drivers⁣, and Project Kaagapay: COVID-19 Relief Efforts⁣. Then on August 19-25 together with 40 volunteers, they’ve gathered P179,195.50 with proceeds that went to Lingap Estudyante, Pawssion Project Foundation, Para! Sa Edukasyon, Tab’Learn:Tablet Para sa Patuloy na Pagtuto, and UN SDSN Youth Philippines. These charities and foundations support varying projects, so it’s great to see a diverse set of proceeds go to different causes and to see how buyers are contributing in simple ways that can affect bigger movements.

 

Through the link on their bio, you can also check out the more causes that the community is putting their focus on and are currently accepting funds for along with some significant facts about the voting registration. It’s because they also want to help in encouraging people to exercise the right to vote.

It’s heart-warming to see how most of their partners go sold out as posted on their page. Seeing the initiative of people to satisfy their cravings while promoting good causes in ways that are mutually helping the buyers and bakers to grow as a better community and as better citizens of a nation.
