“Walker Scobell is an incredibly talented young man who blew us away with his audition tapes for the role of Percy. Many of you recently discovered how great Walker is when you watched his movie The Adam Project, in which Walker lit up the screen as a younger version of Ryan Reynolds’ character.”, Riordan wrote.

Rick confirmed that they considered Walker for the role “months” prior to the Netflix original film’s premiere, but that it “confirmed” their decision to cast him as the pre-teen demigod. Percy Jackson was formerly played by Logan Lerman who is now 30 years old.

Scobell is also famous for this viral video of his Deadpool monologue uploaded by Ryan Reynolds himself who plays Deadpool.
