THIRDY RAVENA STILL RECOVERING FROM FRACTURE, PROMISE TO FINISH SEASON WITH SAN-EN
Despite Thirdy Ravena being not fully recovered yet, he guaranteed his full commitment to backup San-En NeoPhoenix in the final leg of the 2020-21 B.League season.
After San-En’s 82-76 victory against the Shiga Lakestars on Sunday, Ravena still feels he needs to go back to full fitness and catch up with teammates.
“I’m happy definitely that my condition is getting better, although I’m still not where I personally want to be,” he told Spin.ph. “Maybe I’m at about 70-80 percent.”
The match on Sunday was Ravena’s first winning game since he came back from a three-month break after suffering a fractured right index finger to start the year.
It was evident in the 6-foot-3 high-flyer’s performance during the game that his offense is still not up to par compared to his previous matches.
Ravena shot only 3-of-10 from the field to wound up with 7 points.
During his 30 minutes of action in the game, the 24-year-old still managed to significantly contribute points to the team, grabbing six rebounds and three assists to help the NeoPhoenix get back on the winning track.
“It doesn’t matter cause we won today,” he said.
Ravena is still motivated to compete with the team until the final leg despite the fact that the San-En lost its chance to qualify to the playoffs with its 12-41 win-loss card.
NeoPhoenix goes for an upset come Wednesday against the West Division leaders Ryukyu Golden Kings (37-11) at Toyohashi City General Gymnasium.
