SENATE COMMENDS YOUNG FILIPINO PARA ATHLETES’ 2021 SUCCESS
SENATOR Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. filed a resolution congratulating and commending young Filipino para-athletes for their success in the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games (AYPG).
Over 1,500 young para-athletes from 31 Asian countries participated in the 2021 AYPG held in Manama, Bahrain.
Earning the country’s best finish, the Filipino bets bagged one gold, six silvers, and two bronze medals.
Arjay Alegarbes brought home one gold and two silver medals for the swimming competition, while Linard Sultan earned two silver medals for table tennis.
Ronn Russel Mitra and Daniel Enderes also pulled their own silvers for athletics.
Bronze medals were secured for Angel Mae Otom of swimming and Eloise Sable of table tennis.
AYPG is a Quadrennial multi-sports competition for Asia’s young athletes with impairment aged 12 to 20.
