PERLAS SPIKERS ADDS NEWEST RECRUIT JHO MARAGUINOT
Ateneo standout Jho Maraguinot will gear up for the Perlas Spikers for this year's Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as per the announcement made by the roster yesterday.
Maraguinot is an outstanding player of the Blue Eagles that helped the team in seizing the UAAP Season 77 Championship.
However, the Iron Claw sat out for Season 81 and when she came back for Season 82 that was when she couldn’t do more as COVID-19 emerged resulting in a halted season.
“Perlas is giving me an opportunity to play. I was really hesitant at first just because I’m scared that my investment on my rehab will be put to waste if I injure myself again,” said Maraguinot.
“But I realized that this is also an opportunity to regain my confidence with my body and my game,” she added.
The Batangas native also affirmed that she’s not the only one who’s excited to touch the floor again as everyone is waiting since the “one-year quarantine”.
And for her, playing for the Perlas Spikers is a great opportunity to regain herself and revitalize her passion for playing on the court.
“It has always been what I wanted to do, especially when the UAAP got cancelled. I’m so eager to play again. With everything being uncertain, being able to play again is something that would bring happiness not just to us players but also to volleyball fans,” Maraguinot propounded.
With the new development, Maraguinot’s focus is to bring the title to her new home and to build great chemistry with the team.
“No matter what team, it would always have to be great teamwork. Which will come from trusting each other inside and outside the court,” she concluded.
