NU BULLDOGS SECURES 6-FOOT-3 BULLPUPS WINGER KARL GLORIA
The rebuild continues for the Bulldogs as the National University has successfully secured the commitment of its former Bullpups’ player, Karl Gloria.
The active member of the Bullpups’ Team B is set to bring his winning moves to NU’s senior team.
Bulldogs head coach Jeff Napa confirmed that he will be joined by the 6-foot-3 winger as he resumes his pool rebuild ahead of the hopeful restart of the UAAP competitions.
“We need all the help we can get. Si Karl, matagal na siyang part ng juniors program namin at masaya ako na nag-decide siya na mag-stay dito sa amin sa NU,” Napa said to Spin.ph.
“Malaking bagay para sa amin yung versatility niya. Very promising siya at siguradong makakatulong siya sa amin,” he added.
The 18-year-old Gloria was one of the key cog targets for the coach as NU seeks to attain key players from its high school program and promote them to the senior’s team.
Gloria is an incoming Grade 12 for National University-Nazareth School and eligible to make his seniors debut when the UAAP hopefully resumes its competitions.
Although the product of General Santos City was not part of the National University-Nazareth School lineup that won the UAAP Season 82 championship, Gloria was an active member of the Bullpups’ Team B in the PCABL, MMBL, and PAYA Juniors tournaments.
He is the latest player to ascend to the senior’s team joining other top-tier high school standouts, Reyland Torres and PJ Palacielo.
It is a fresh beginning for the Bulldogs with Napa in command as they seek to bounce back from their 2-12 win-loss record last season.
