NCAA SEASON 96 JUMPSTARTS WITH GMA LAUNCHING ‘RISE UP STRONGER’
GMA began broadcasting ‘Rise Up Stronger’ as the new broadcasting partner of NCAA, ironing out the personalities and stories from teams to every player.
“Against all odds we ‘Rise Up Stronger,’” NCAA Management Committee Chairman Father Vic Calvo shared to BusinessMirror.
“The NCAA has adjusted very well to the ‘new normal’ and we feel blessed,” he said, stressing out the meaning behind “Rise Up Stronger.”
The show will begin on May 23 showcasing the stories behind every battle of the coaches and players of the 10 member schools.
Since NCAA Season 96 will be held virtually, competitions in basketball and volleyball, online chess, and taekwondo Poomsae are virtual skills-based.
“That’s why the consensus is to shelve games in the traditional sports,” Calvo propounded.
Calvo also shared that the ‘special’ season focuses on the safety and welfare of student-athletes.
Moreover, the host Letran said that with such a scheme the league was able to cope with the ‘new normal.’
“The NCAA has adjusted very well to the ‘new normal’ and we feel blessed,” he said.
“It shows our creativity. Never give up. We showed our creativeness.”
