MARCK ESPEJO RECEIVES WARM WELCOME FROM FC TOKYO ALONG WITH NORWEGIAN IMPORT
Filipino ace Marck Espejo and Norwegian import Jonas Kvalen received a warm welcome from their Japan V.League family, FC Tokyo.
Espejo will make a comeback after his two-year hiatus since his appearance last 2018 under the banner of Oita Miyoshi and seeing action in Thailand for Visakha VC and Bani Jamra in Bahrain last year.
“I am looking forward to playing with everyone at FC Tokyo. I promise to do my best. Thank you for your support,” said the returning ace.
While Kvalen, also an outside hitter, is excited to play in Japan for the first time in the league. He last played in Turkey for Tokat Belediye Plevnespor last year and was in Italy for Rinascita Volley Lagonegro 2016 and in Belgium for Prefazis Menen in 2015 and VC Greenyard Maaseik in 2019.
“I am excited from now on. Japanese volleyball is a very popular sport. I am looking forward to meeting our fans and supporters,” said the 29-year-old spiker.
With the addition of new import Kvalen and the comeback of Espejo, both are expected to turn the tables around with FC Tokyo from their standing of eight last season.
The Japan V. League is set to kick off the 2021-2022 Season on October 15 in which the FC Tokyo will face Suntory Sunbirds the following day.
