‘MALABO NA MAKAPUNTA AKO’ SAYS JOVELYN GONZAGA ON BEACH VOLLEYBALL NT TRYOUTS

Foregoing her spot in the indoor volleyball tryouts, Jovelyn Gonzaga might miss her calling in the beach volleyball national team tryouts as well which is set to happen in Subic later this month.

Jovelyn Gonzaga, a mainstay of the Philippine women’s national volleyball team, has been clear that she will not be joining the tryout for the Philippine women’s indoor volleyball team to give way for younger players, she announced two days ago.

Para sa ikaka-progress ng Philippine volleyball,” the bionic Ilongga said.

Now, the 29-year-old spiker is dubious on making it out too in the upcoming tryout of the beach volleyball despite that PNVF beach volleyball head Charo Soriano already shared her excitement over the possibility of having her in the team.

Gonzaga explained that she’s been hectic with her schooling with the Army that made her not sure to partake in the said tryout.

“Depende pa eh kasi nasa schooling pa ako. Kaya very malabo na makapunta ako,” she said.

But, the Ilongga claimed that the said matter is unclear and she intends not to precede the situation.

Kaya nilaan ko muna time ko mag focus,” she propounded.

With a lot of happening in the versatile opposite spiker, she has made sure that she will not be retiring her jersey in the local leagues as she had plans in competing in the Premier Volleyball League’s maiden season as a pro league.

Sa indoor national team lang. Giving up my slot na. Pero tuloy pa din ako sa mga pro leagues sa indoor,” said Gonzaga, who played for Army in the PVL and Cignal in the Philippine Superliga.
