FILIPINA IMPORT JACK ANIMAM PUTS FOCUS ON TAIPEI TITLE BID RATHER THAN MVP PLUM

Skipper Jack Animam wanted to put her priority of seizing the championship title for her campaign for Shih Hsin University (SHU) and shrugged off the MVP award.

The NU standout, Animam, was hailed as the UAAP Season 80 MVP and was also the youngest Filipino player at the 2015 FIBA Asia Women’s Championship at the age of 16.

Moreover, Animam led the Philippines to its first-ever gold medal in women’s 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 basketball events in the Southeast Asian Games 2019.

With such stats, Animam brought her talents to SHU and gunned the team bagging a 7-0 start behind double-double norms of 15.9 points and 11.3 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 2.3 blocks. Currently, SHU is standing on an 11-0 win-loss record.

After the elimination round, Animam landed No. 8 in the league’s ranking with a score of 15.7 points averaging on 69-percent shooting as well as clinching the third-best accuracy in the league.

Thus, it was no surprise that the 6-foot-5 forward is likely to post for the MVP line.

Nonetheless, Animam chose to stay her feet on the ground and not be swayed by her gigantic achievements for she came to Taiwan to help the SHU for a repeat and not for her nobility.

Yung championship yung habol ko dito. Gusto kong magchampion,” concluded Animam.
