CHERY TIGGO, CIGNAL AIM FOR QUARTERFINAL SPOTS IN PVL
CHERY Tiggo and Cignal will fight for the last two quarterfinal spots in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, with crucial matches scheduled for Tuesday (11 March 2025) at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
The Crossovers will face the Farm Fresh Foxies at 4 p.m., while the HD Spikers will meet ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles at 6:30 p.m.
Both teams are coming off recent victories in the qualifying round: Chery Tiggo triumphed over Nxled 25-22, 26-24, 25-12, while Cignal secured a 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15 win over Capital1. A win on Tuesday would guarantee their spots in the quarterfinals.
For the Crossovers, key players like Cess Robles, Shaya Adorador, Pauline Gaston, Ara Galang, Seth Rodriguez, and Aby Maraño are expected to lead the charge.
“Our mindset is to maintain that killer instinct and carry it over to our game against Farm Fresh. We also need to stay focused on teamwork and pushing hard once we gain the lead,” said Adorador, who scored 14 points against Nxled.
Leading the Foxies are Trisha Tubu, Aly Bertolano, Caitlyn Viray, Jolina Dela Cruz, and Louie Romero.
Meanwhile, Cignal will look to Vanie Gandler, Roselyn Doria-Aquino, Jackie Acuña, Dawn Catindig, Gel Cayuna, and rookie Ishie Lalongisip to power their team forward.
Lalongisip reflected on her team’s growth, saying, “We always look on the bright side. More games mean more chances to learn and improve for future matches.”
ZUS Coffee will rely on Jovelyn Gonzaga, Thea Gagate, Michelle Gamit, Gayle Pascual, and Chinnie Arroyo to challenge Cignal.
Both teams will need to bring their best to secure a spot in the next stage of the tournament.
