ALEX EALA JUMPS 134 SPOT IN WOMEN’S TENNIS WORLD RANKINGS
Filipino sensation Alex Eala advanced to the Top 500 rankings in the women's, placing from No. 639 to No. 505 as listed by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
Eala started her world ranking at the record of No. 1185 and she is now only 5 spots away to be included in the elite Top 500 circle of the best female tennis players in the world.
The 16-year old Filipino ace was able to jump into this massive career-high ranking after her debut in the 2021 Winners Open.
Eala defeated the world No. 207 Paula Ormachea of Argentina, 7-5, 6-2. However, she lost during round 16 against world No. 97 Mayar Sherif of Egypt, 6-2, 6-2.
Moreover, she continued her domination as the tennis star in history to be the first Filipino in 35 years to reach the last four of a Grand Slam juniors singles event.
On the other hand, Alex is currently sitting as the No. 2 player as per the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ranking last month in the world junior rankings.
Eala will see in action again in the W25 Ourense hardcourt tournament of the Women’s ITF World Tennis Tour at Club Santo Domingo on August 15 and 16.
