TAYABAS CITY EXTENDS SUSPENSION OF IN-PERSON CLASSES
THE LOCAL government of Tayabas City has extended until April 30 the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels in public and private schools.
In its Facebook post, the City Information said that the extended extension is due to the heat index forecast of 42 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
“The suspension of face-to-face classes is a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident that may risk the well-being of both the students and teachers,” the city said in its online announcement.
“The school management is therefore instructed to adopt other measures and learning modalities in order not to affect the school calendar,” it added.
Last April 25 and 26, Mayor Mayor Maria Lourdes Reynoso-Pontioso suspended the face-to-face classes due to extreme heat.
