POLICE personnel of Sorsogon volunteered to tutor some students in the municipality of Bulan in recognizing the importance of education to children.

Members of the Sorsogon 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company initiated the teaching program, made up of one-hour Saturday tutorials, as part of the modular distance learning amid the pandemic.

The program has helped pupils, aged 6 to 12, who are living in remote barangays of the municipality, where internet connectivity is difficult.

Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar praised the Sorsogon cops for their initiative to assist students living in far-flung areas.

“Saludo ako sa mga pulis na ito na sila nang lumapit sa mga kabataan upang masigurong hindi sila nahuhuli sa larangan ng edukasyon. Sana ay marami pa kayong matulungang kabataan.” he said.
