LAGAO CENTRAL ELEMENTARY GABALDON SCHOOL OPENED
THE NEWLY preserved and restored Gabaldon House Building of the Lagao Central Elementary School in General Santos City was officially opened on April 6.
Schools Division Superintendent Rommel G. Flores, CESO V, received the key of the building from Engr. Annabelle R. Pangan, chief of the Educational Facilities Division of the Department of Education and Engr. Glenn Paul Yumang, the contractor.
Evelyn Fe Sanoria, Principal II of Lagao CES, vowed to nurture the “heritage of the past.”
Pangan said that the LCES is one of the first batches of Gabaldon School Building Conservation Act.
“Kinakailangang ipreserba ang mga Gabaldon school building dahil ang mga ito ay may sariling pagkakakilanlan,” he added.
The Gabaldons are protected under Republic Act 11194. Under the law, the “modification, alteration, destruction, demolition or relocation” of Gabaldon buildings are illegal.
