THE DEPARTMENT of Education Panabo City Division tied up with the Department of Migrant Workers for the implementation of the Alternative Program System for overseas Filipino workers.

The two agencies signed the Memorandum of Agreement on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the ALS Division Office in New City Hall Compound, Barangay JP Laurel, Panabo City.

Present during the signing were City Administrator Pedrito Misoles; Dr. Jinky Firman, officer-in-charge Schools Division superintendent; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Phoebe Gay Refamonte; Dr. Maricel Langahid, Regional ALS focal person; Labor Attache Marie Rose Escalada, ALS Education Program Supervisor Jaime Carlom and teachers of ALS Panabo.

The move, DepEd-Panabo said, is part of Mayor Jose Relampagos’ education support agenda.

The partnership aims to allow OFWs who want to finish their education. Passers will be given Junior High School diploma through virtual graduation.

Passers can also continue their Senior High School after securing their JHS diploma.
