DEPED EVALUATES 50 SCHOOLS IN REGION 1 FOR LIMITED F2F CLASSES
AT LEAST 50 public schools in Region 1 are being evaluated for their readiness to hold limited face-to-face classes, an official said on Friday.
Regional Language Supervisor Johnson Sunga said the schools are located in areas with few or no Covid19 cases.
He said that schools have to get the support of local officials to be allowed to hold physical classes.
“Among the requirements are letters of support from the local government units and parents’ consent while for private schools they must submit a formal letter for their interest to offer face-to-face classes and must have an implementation plan for the face-to-face classes,” Sunga said.
Of the 50 schools, 28 are in Ilocos Norte, 19 in Ilocos Sur, and three in Pangasinan.
Joey Pimentel, a statistician at the Department of Education office in Ilocos Region, said the schools have submitted the requirements and are being assessed by the central office.
Based on the guidelines for the pilot implementation, 95 public elementary schools, 5 senior high schools and 20 private schools will take part in the program.
