BASTE DUTERTE PUSHES FOR MORE ‘HOT’ COURSES
INCOMING Davao City Mayor Sebastian ‘Baste‘ Duterte pushed for the inclusion of more in-demand courses in the City College of Davao.
In an Executive Committee meeting with the officials of the CCD, Duterte said that graduates of demand-driven courses will become globally competitive in their respective field.
During the meeting, consultants from the University of Southern Philippines presented a feasibility study of the programs of CDC.
The new school is slated to open in August with at least 1,000 students to kick-off its operations.
Davao City Council Committee on Education Chairman Pilar Braga said the college is almost complete and has submitted its compliance of requirements to the Commission on Higher Education.
Duterte inspected the facilities of the college last month.
The CCD is located in Bago Oshiro, Mintal in a five-hectare property of the Bureau of Plant Industry.
The establishment of the college was approved by incoming Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio in 2020.
