BARMM VOWS TRANSPARENCY IN HIRING NEW TEACHERS
THE MINISTRY of Basic, Higher and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao vowed to be transparent in the hiring of new teachers for Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur.
Minister Mohaqher Iqbal made the assurance after more than 4,000 applied for the 200 vacant teaching positions in the two provinces.
“The situation has been challenging since not all will be hired. We have to select those most qualified for the vacant items. In Lanao del Sur, more than 2,000 applicants are being screened for appointments for the limited number of vacancies,” Iqbal said.
“The same number of applicants are aspiring to be hired for Maguindanao. No position is for sale,” he added.
Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur have the highest number of teachers and students with two school divisions each.
Iqbal earlier urged the BARMM education community to continue its support to the education ministry and the region as the country continues to battle the coronavirus pandemic.
