A PUBLIC school teacher from Albay province has appealed for monetary donations as she battles breast cancer.

Merly Balucio-Basmayor, principal 1 of the San Isidro National High School in Malilipot, Albay, needs immediate operation as her breast cancer has progressed to stage 3.

“Am financially distressed as I had already incurred so many expenses for the chemotherapy sessions and other attending expenses. Embarrassing, though, I am persuaded to seek the support of kind and compassionate people to help me raise at least P200,000 for my surgical operations,” she said on Facebook.

“It is in this regard that I appeal to your benevolence and mercy for possible financial help. Whatever amount you can extend is very much appreciated. Surely it will alleviate my financial distress situation,” she added.
