VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio urged students to read more to gain knowledge and wisdom.

Duterte-Carpio marked the launch of National Reading Month at the Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Sr. Central Elementary School.

She read a book to the Kindergarten learners.

Duterte-Carpio was with Regional Director Allan Farnazo, Schools Division Superintendent Reynante Solitario, Assistant SDS Marilyn Deduyo, and other DepEd officials.

The Vice President also encouraged learners who already know how to read to help their classmates who have a hard time learning how to read.
