SK OFFICIALS URGED TO FOCUS ON CHILD CARE

BARANGAY Health Wellness Rep. Angelica Natasha-Co encouraged the newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan officials to channel their youthful energy and talents in championing child care and protection.
“As chairperson of the House Committee on the Welfare of Children, I believe that the SK should do more than just basketball paliga, pageants and talent shows,” she said.
Aside from childcare and protection, SK officials should focus their programs on protecting youth rights, anti-hazing, mental health, and addressing juvenile delinquency and unemployment, the lawmaker said.
“As one of the younger members of the House of Representatives, my advice to the Sangguniang Kabataan is that they help in their cities and municipalities monitor the implementation of public works projects in their barangay,” Natasha-Co added.
At the same time, the lawmaker congratulated the election winners and urged them to familiarize themselves with the new laws Congress has passed and to implement well those relevant to their villages.
