REPORT PRIVATE SCHOOLS COLLECTING NEEDLESS FEES, DEPED PRODS PARENTS
THE DEPARTMENT of Education said parents can report private schools on the inclusion of laboratory, aircon and other unnecessary fees amid the online classes.
The parents can go to regional directors for a corresponding action, said DepEd Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio in an interview.
Private schools would also be required to explain such issues, he added.
San Antonio said they understand the situation, however, these schools should also have consideration given that the country is experiencing the Covid19 pandemic.
“‘Yun pa ang sinasabi natin, sana yung mga private schools makatarungan naman yung mga kokolektahin, naintindihan naman natin na siguro magpapa-aircon pa rin tayo” para sa mga gurong papasok ng paaralan, he said.
The DepEd also advised teachers to always stay connected with the students and parents in whatever form of communication for questions and clarifications.
DepEd announced that more than 24 million have enrolled for the school year 2020-2021.
