QC MAYOR SHARES PROGRAMS TO END CHILD LABOR, EXPLOITATION
QUEZON City Mayor Joy Belmonte shared the various programs of the Quezon City government to end child labor and online sexual abuse and exploitation of children at the International Public Information Sharing for ASEAN and other countries in Asia gathering.
Among the topics discussed in the forum were Zero Child Labor Action Plan, Strengthening Barangay Council for the Protection of the Children, Establishing Task Force Sampaguita at Magdalena and Creation of Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program Section of Public Employment Service Office.
The mayor also urged the international community to regulate social media platforms that are exacerbating the problem in OSAEC (Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children).
Belmonte was joined by Coun. Egay Yap, ASEAN countries, representatives of the national government, LGUs, and civic society organizations.
The International Public Information Sharing is organized by World Vision in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment and the National Council Against Child Labor.
