PH POSTS STRONGEST PISA PERFORMANCE SINCE 2018
THE PHILIPPINES recorded its strongest performance in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) since it began participating in the international assessment in 2018, Education Secretary Sonny Angara announced.
During the PISA 2025 National Results Launch at the Caloocan City Science High School, the Department of Education (DepEd) reported significant improvements in the performance of Filipino students in Reading, Mathematics, and Science.
DepEd said the gains reflect the positive impact of ongoing education programs and reforms aimed at improving learning outcomes in the country.
According to DepEd, a total of 8,072 15-year-old learners from 208 schools nationwide participated in PISA 2025.
Officials and representatives from the Office of the President, Office of the Executive Secretary, Presidential Communications Office, Caloocan City government, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and various education organizations and partners also attended the event.
