PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. paid tribute to teachers during the National Teachers’ Day celebration, recognizing their vital role in upholding the country’s democratic values.
“Our teachers are at the core of our educational system, serving as second parents and shaping our children into future leaders, change-makers, and nation-builders,” Marcos stated.
“As we celebrate National Teachers’ Day, we honor educators worldwide for instilling the values of excellence and hard work in our students, helping them become the best versions of themselves,” he added.
The President also highlighted the administration’s ongoing efforts to recognize teachers’ sacrifices through various policies and reforms in the education sector.
During the 2024 National Teachers’ Day event in Quezon City on Thursday, Marcos urged the Department of Education, along with public and private school teachers and other government agencies, to collaborate in improving the quality of education in the Philippines.
