PASIG OPENS PAGASA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION FOR SY 2024-2025
THE LOCAL government of Pasig City will start the application process for their PAGASA Scholarship Program for the School Year 2024-2025, this July 15, Monday.
The LGU announced that students who are admitted as first-year students in priority programs or those incoming first- to fourth-year students in the priority nursing program may submit their online applications on Monday (15 July 2024) to the ‘Pasig City Scholarship Portal’, the city’s new online system designed to make the application process more efficient.
The priority programs are accountancy, business administration, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, finance, education, political science, English/journalism, communications, hospitality management, tourism, information technology, computer science, psychology, and nursing.
All applicants must wait for the official portal link that will be posted on the Pasig City Scholarship Office’s Facebook page on Monday at 10 a.m. and will be closed on Friday, July 19, at 5 p.m.
To be eligible as a scholar in the program, the applicant must satisfy all of the following criteria:
– Filipino citizen
– Pasig resident for at least two years before the deadline for submission of requirements
– Included in the Listahanan (National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction, or NHTS-PR), or monthly household income must not exceed P30,000
– Enrolled as a first-year student in a priority program (or first, second, third, or fourth year, in the case of the priority nursing program) in a CHED-accredited private higher education institution (HEI) or TESDA-accredited private technical vocational institution (TVI) located in Pasig City (provided that there is an existing Memorandum of Agreement between the City Government of Pasig and the HEI or TVI)
– With good moral character and without any derogatory record
The LGU also emphasized that the applicant must not be a scholar of any other scholarship program or study grant.
At present, the participating schools for the program are Pasig Catholic College and Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus.
The scholarship program will cover the tuition and other school fees necessary for the successful and complete enrollment of a student in private HEIs and private TVIs in Pasig City, as well as a fixed allowance for books, supplies, and miscellaneous personal expenses for the entire duration of the course program.
