PARAÑAQUE SDO LAUNCHES PROBE INTO ALLEGED SEXUAL ABUSE INVOLVING TEACHERS, LEARNERS

THE SCHOOLS Division Office (SDO) of Parañaque has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving certain teachers and learners following reports and videos circulating on social media.

In an official statement, the SDO said it had received information regarding the alleged incidents and is treating the matter with the “utmost seriousness, urgency, and impartiality.”

The office said it has initiated the appropriate procedures and is undertaking the necessary actions in accordance with existing laws, Department of Education (DepEd) policies, child protection protocols, and due process requirements.

“The protection, welfare, and best interests of our learners remain our highest priority,” the SDO said.

It added that support mechanisms have been made available, while concerned offices are closely coordinating to ensure that the rights and welfare of affected learners are protected throughout the investigation.

The SDO is also working with appropriate authorities to ensure the proper handling of the case and the conduct of any necessary legal and administrative proceedings in line with applicable laws, regulations, and established procedures.

The office encouraged possible victims, witnesses, and individuals with relevant information to come forward and cooperate with the ongoing inquiry through its official reporting channels.

It assured the public that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality and handled in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

“The Schools Division Office of Parañaque remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and child-friendly learning environment, upholding accountability, and protecting the rights, dignity, and well-being of every learner,” it added.
