WALANG dapat rebisahin sa mga nilalaman ng mga aklat kaugnay sa kasaysayan.

Ito ang binigyang-diin ni Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture chairman Sherwin Gatchalian kaugnay sa isyu ng historical revisionism.

“Well, number 1, if you talked about revisionism, for the last 30 years, DepEd has been writing or has been promulgating our curriculum. And the curriculum is based on what historians tell us,” pahayag ni Gatchalian.

Iginiit ng senador na hindi dapat mabago ang anumang itinuro o kasaysayang ibinahagi ng mga historian.

“For the last 30 years, our kids have been reading history as what historians told us. And moving forward, I don’t see a need to revise anything. It has to be factual as what historians tell us and what our experts tell us. And whatever they tell us that should be in our textbooks,” diiin ni Gatchalian.

Samantala, sa pagpasok ulit  ni Gatchalian sa 19th Congress, inaasam pa rin niyang mahawakan ang komite  na may kinalaman sa edukasyon at ekonomiya.

“I like to chair but definitely it will revolve around education and the economy. These are the things I am very passionate about. So without identifying committees, I will focus in these two aspects,” anang senador.
