NATIONAL Schools Press Conference mentor Mela Franco Habijan was crowned as the first Miss Trans Global in virtual coronation rites held on September 12, 2020.

“Pilipinas, we won! We won!!! We are the first-ever Miss Trans Global!” she posted on Facebook.

“Not your typical crowning moment, but I’m happy to be holding the hands of the best people in my life,” she added.

Habijan is a writer, an actress, performer, entrepreneur, and LGBTQIA+ advocate.

Habijan has been training campus journalists for NSPC since 2013.

During the last NSPC, she trained students for feature article writing and served as a judge for the Regional Students Press Conference.

Habijan is also the directress of Gentle Angels School in Malanday, Marikina City.

Miss Trans Global is an international online pageant for trans and gender nonconforming people. It aims to raise awareness on transgender and LGB issues worldwide.
