THE METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority is set to conduct road-clearing operations as part of its preparations for the opening of face-to-face classes.
Director Baltazar Melgar, MMDA officer-in-charge, said that more vehicles are expected to be on the road when in-person classes fully resume.
“We can no longer accommodate the construction of more roads in Metro Manila so our focus is on road-clearing operations in order to fully implement alternate roads for our motorists,” Melgar said.
Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos earlier ordered local government units to remove road obstructions.
“These roads must be cleared for our alternate routes as a way of addressing traffic problems here in Metro Manila,” he said.
