MARITIME TRANSPORT READY FOR F2F CLASSES

/ 25 July 2022

THE PUBLIC maritime transport is ready for the resumption of face-to-face classes in August, the Department of Transportation  said.

In a Facebook post, the DOTr assured the public it is well-prepared for the conduct of in-person classes through its “OPLAN Balik Eskwela.”

“Upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at kaayusan ng bawat biyahero sa nalalapit na pasukan sa Agosto, nakahanda at kasado na ang ‘OPLAN’ Balik Eskwela,” the department said.

Ports and passenger vessels in the maritime sector have been prepared to address the expected surge of passengers and maritime traffic, it said.

“Kaya naman narito ang mga isasagawa ng Philippine Coast Guard, kabilang na ang mga preventive at response measures, at pagpapatibay at paghahanda ng lahat ng operating units nito sa bansa,” the department added.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said it will reopen several old routes of public utility vehicles, including the University Belt in Manila in anticipation of the resumption of in-person classes.

LTFRB Chairman Cheloy Garafil said that 30% of old PUV routes will be reopened within the University Belt.
