MANILA Mayor  Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso on Monday paid tribute to the teacher-broadcasters of the Department of Education.

Domagoso commended the teachers for their sacrifices amid the blended distance learning set-up.

“Please extend my regards to our teachers and to fellow teacher-broadcasters all over the country. Please extend my gratitude as a father, as a citizen of this country sa ginagawa ninyong bagong pamamaraan ng pagtuturo this pandemic,” he said on Facebook.

The mayor vowed that the city government will continue to support the teachers.

“To our dearest teacher-broadcasters, tulungan niyo po kami na hulmahin at gabayan ang mga kabataan. For our part, we commit to you that your city government will be there. Mag-ingat kayo, we need you,” he said.

In 2020, the education department hired several teacher-broadcasters to deliver lessons through the DepEd TV since not all areas in the country have an internet connection.
