MALABON CITY STRENGTHENS GOV’T INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

/ 14 March 2025

AROUND 20 interns were accommodated by the City Government of Malabon as part of their Government Internship Program.

The program provided young participants with valuable insights and hands-on experience in public service, equipping them with skills they can use in their future careers.

The GIP was launched to assist out-of-school youth, fresh graduates struggling to find employment, and college undergraduates by giving them an opportunity to gain work experience within the local government.

Through the program, interns will be exposed to various government functions, helping them develop a deeper understanding of public service.

Beyond temporary work experience, the program also opens doors for long-term employment.

Many interns have a high chance of being absorbed into different local government agencies, offering them stable jobs and a brighter future in the public sector.

Officials expressed gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment and the Malabon Public Employment Service Office for their continued commitment to providing meaningful job opportunities.

Their efforts ensure that young individuals receive the support they need to jumpstart their careers.

Interns were encouraged to remain dedicated and hardworking, as their performance during the internship could pave the way for long-term government service.

“Every lesson you learn here will serve as your guide in your professional journey,” Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval told the participants.

With programs like GIP, Malabon City continues to empower its youth by bridging the gap between education and employment.

Through this initiative, the city strengthens its commitment to fostering a skilled and service-oriented workforce.
