THE HOUSE Committee on Higher and Technical Education has approved the measure creating the Commission on Higher Education field office in the province of Ilocos Norte.

The panel headed by Baguio City Rep. Mark Go agreed to endorse for plenary deliberations House Bill 6456 which aims to provide students and their parents easy access to programs and services of CHED.

The bill was authored by Ilocos Norte Second District Rep. Angelo Marcos Barba which would also help provide a more efficient and effective program and service delivery.

This is particularly true in following up on applications for student financial assistance and grants and scholarships, securing eligibility, and documents for employment purposes.

The solon said in his explanatory note that establishing a CHED field office devoted to the needs of the province of Ilocos Norte would certainly save time, money, and resources for students, parents, teachers, staff, school administrators, and CHED personnel.

The bill is in line with the administration’s policy to provide efficient public service for the people.
