In his sponsorship speech, Senate Committee on Finance chairman Juan Edgardo Angara said they approved the proposal for the increased allocation for the school-building program of the Department of Education.

Angara stressed that they added allocation to the Educational Service Contracting Program for Private Junior High Schools and scholarships for State Universities and Colleges.

The Senate also added funding for financial assistance for students in SUCs and Tulong Dunong under the Commission on Higher Education.
