PRESIDENT  Rodrigo Duterte applauded the Department of Education for the successful national kick-off of the distance learning scheme on August 10 despite a three-hour delay.

“I would like to congratulate the Department of Education as its launches its distance learning approach for school  year 2020-2021 to the Handang Isip, Handang Bukas National Kick-off Virtual Program,” Duterte said.

With the current health crisis, Duterte added  that the country should adopt innovative measures to ensure the youth  continue their education with priority on their health and safety.

Duterte said he is united with DepEd in their collaborative efforts “in demonstrating the capacity and preparedness of DepEd to operationalize learning delivery, modalities in various school settings.”

The President added that with the cooperation of everyone, students will ‘get back on track’ amid the health crisis.

The National Kick-Off was held through a virtual presser and showed the preparedness of different cities for the opening of classes.
