HEALTH Secretary Francisco Duque III plans to go back to teaching after stepping down from his post at the Department of Health.

“Marami akong plano. I wanna go back to the private sector, I want to help run the family university in Dagupan City where I will also teach,” Duque said.

Duque used to teach in the university’s College of Medicine. He plans to incorporate universal healthcare into the medical curriculum.

During Duque’s term at the DoH, President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Universal Healthcare Act, which aims to provide quality healthcare to all Filipinos.

“I used to teach in our College of Medicine so ‘yun ang gagawin ko [so that’s what I’m going to do and I want to do Universal Healthcare,’ yung modules and I want this introduced in the medical curriculum, ‘yung Universal Healthcare,” he said.

“Para bata pa, alam na nila, may appreciation na kung ano ba itong Universal Health Care, how do you implement this, what is the roadmap for the Philippine Universal Healthcare,” Duque added.
