THE DEPARTMENT of Education has launched the inaugural Alternative Learning System (ALS) Summit scheduled for June 13 to 14, 2024 at SEAMEO INNOTECH in Quezon City.

Implementers, advocates, and supporters of ALS are expected to participate in the event themed “Preparing Filipino Learners for Lifelong Learning.”

Organized by the DepEd-Bureau of Alternative Education, the summit aims to showcase best practices and achievements in ALS implementation under the ALS Sustainable Agenda and to propose reforms for the system.

The opening program on Thursday, June 13, 2024, included a handover ceremony for the ALS Monitoring and Evaluation Handbook, distribution of ALS Life Skills Interactive Audio Instruction thumb drives, and a soft launch of the ALS Teacher Induction Program.
