THE COMMISSION on Elections partnered with the Commission on Higher Education to educate voters.

The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Agreement on Thursday.

Under the agreement, CHED will provide the facilities and manpower for in-campus education, information and dissemination of electoral activities and materials.

Ched Executive Director Cinderella Filipina Benitez-Jaro said that the education and information campaign will include a person’s right as a voter and how voting may empower them.

Comelec Executive Director Bartolome Sinocruz Jr. said that voter education will boost voter turnout and understanding of the electoral process, resulting in peaceful elections.

“Ang mas importante talaga sa voter understanding, how the election processes are being done so that they can vote intelligently and efficiently,” Sinocruz added.
