CITY GOVERNMENT DISTRIBUTES STARTER KITS TO SKILLS TRAINING GRADUATES

/ 16 April 2026

A TOTAL of 239 graduates of the Pasig City Skills Development Office (PCSDO) received starter kits during a distribution program held at the Pasig City Institute of Science and Technology – Manggahan Campus.

The initiative aims to equip beneficiaries with essential tools to help them apply and enhance the skills they acquired from various technical-vocational courses offered by PCSDO last year.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto attended the event and expressed support for the program, highlighting the importance of skills training in providing Pasigueños with practical knowledge that can be transformed into sustainable livelihoods.

He emphasized that while starter kits serve as valuable initial assistance, the true benefit lies in the knowledge and skills gained—and how these are utilized to improve their quality of life.

To qualify for the assistance, trainees were required to develop business plans. With guidance from trainers, these proposals were refined and evaluated to determine the recipients of the starter kits.

The kits were tailored to the specific courses completed by the trainees. Welding graduates received tools such as portable inverter welding machines and safety equipment.

Hairdressing trainees were provided with essential hairstyling tools, while beauty care graduates received manicure sets.

Meanwhile, graduates of bread and pastry production courses were given baking equipment, while arts and crafts trainees received materials for producing household items.

The distribution forms part of the Pasig City government’s ongoing efforts to support residents who aspire to start their own livelihoods.

Through the program, the local government aims to expand opportunities for Pasigueños to become productive, earn additional income, and contribute to the city’s economic growth.
