/ 14 March 2023

QUEZON Province 4th District Representative Keith Micah D.L. Tan called on the House of Representatives to approve a measure that seeks to establish a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training and Assessment Center in the municipality of Alabat.

Tan said that House Bill 690 aims to help alleviate poverty in the town.

He stressed the need to provide adequate social and economic infrastructure services and reduce poverty and unemployment, particularly in the island municipality of Alabat.

The lawmaker added that Quezon residents are confronted with social and economic challenges and they are often forced to accept whatever work is accessible and available.

Under the measure, the center will help train local residents to become productive, self-reliant and globally competitive to hasten the social and economic development of the area.

The center shall serve as TESDA-accredited assessment centers for acquired competencies in technical vocational skills.
