MORE than 76,000 individuals applied for scholarship during the three-day National TVET Enrollment Day held from August 25-27, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority said.

NTED is held every year to enable Filipinos who want to get free technical and vocational training to apply. This year, 76,355 submitted their online application for TESDA’s scholarship programs.

The event was one of the highlights of TESDA’s week-long anniversary celebration. The theme for this year’s anniversary was “TESDA@27: Pagbangon, Pag-Asa at Pag-abante sa Bente Syete”.

The applicants will be contacted and assisted for enrollment at the appropriate training center.

TESDA director general Isidro Lapeña encouraged Filipinos who want to acquire skills to take advantage of the agency’s scholarship programs.

He said that scholarships are open to high school graduates 15 years old and above.

“Even if the NTED is done, we are still offering scholarship programs. They just need to visit our website and Facebook page for more information. This is free,” Lapeña said.
