5 STUDENTS RECIPIENTS OF PASIG PNP’S ‘ADOPT-A-LEARNER PROGRAM’

PASIG City Police Station launched the Adopt-a-Learner Program at the Muslim Compound, Hayatol Ulom Masjid two days before the formal opening of classes for School Year 2021-22.

Two elementary students from San Miguel Elementary School were the recipients of school supplies, grocery items, vitamins, health kits, and cash donations.

The two learners are Noralden Mindalano, Grade 5, and Nokhair Mindalano, Grade 3, who are sons of a street vendor, with three more other siblings failing to go to school due to poverty. The family of the siblings all came from Marawi.

A third recipient is Grade 9 student John Lawrence Dinaguit of Nagpayong High School as the police team also went to Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan. Dinaguit received school supplies, grocery items, vitamins, health kits, and cash assistance.

The Muslim compound is located along M.H. Del Pilar Street, Barangays Palatiw and  Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City.

Apart from the three adopted learners, two others from Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan were also given groceries and school supplies as the parents of the two children are currently serving sentence at the Pasig City Police Station for illegal drug trade.

The selected students will be handled by the Station Community Affairs Service Section personnel which acts as their foster parents, and will look over the welfare, school needs, as well as monitor the academic phases of the students for the whole year.

The KKDAT of the Pasig City Police Station led by Mr. Evander Clemente Heng, was also present and assisted in the distribution of school supplies and grocery items during the activity, while at the same time, promising the students to help in their academics.

The police personnel together with the KKDAT members will also conduct home/house visitations every week, to help students in their school works and assignments especially in modular concept of learning that will benefit them for the duration of the program.
