/ 1 September 2024

AROUND 1,285 students benefited from the Back-to-School Project launched by the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. or SSFI, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

SSFI led by its president Heart Evangelista-Escudero distributed school bags, rice, assorted grocery items, and other gifts to students of Carig Integrated School.

Also present at the event were SSFI vice president and Special Envoy to the United Arab Emirates for Trade and Investments Kathryna Yu-Pimentel and SSFI legal counsel and Department of Social Welfare and Development Usec. Emmeline Aglipay-Villar.

They were assisted by local officials of Tuguegarao City and the Cagayan provincial government during the gift-giving activity.

Aglipay-Villar, whose family hails from Cagayan, thanked the generous donors, local government officials, and volunteers who made the project possible.

Speaking in Ilocano, she expressed hope that these gifts would significantly contribute to the students and their family’s well-being.

For her part, Evangelista-Escudero said the distribution of school supplies is a tangible demonstration of SSFI’s commitment to providing students with the necessary tools for their educational journey.

“Sa ating mga estudyante, I encourage you to make the most of these resources. Remember, your education is an investment in your future, and we are here to support you every step of the way,” Evangelista-Escudero added.
