‘CUSI PETITION LAST-DITCH BID TO DERAIL ELECTIONS’
THE PDP-Laban faction headed by Senator Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III expressed concern that the petition filed by the group of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi asking the Commission on Elections to reopen the filing of certificates of candidacy is a ploy to push a no-election scenario.
PDP-Laban Vice Chairman and senatorial candidate Lutgardo Barbo called the petition a last-ditch effort of Cusi and his group to subvert the will of the people.
He urged the Comelec to junk the petition.
Barbo said Cusi’s group does not have the authority to represent the party.
He called Cusi and the other petitioners political freeloaders “who are not even members of the PDP Laban.”
“As far as the real PDP Laban Party is concerned, there has been no authority to file such kind of petition to allow the filing of CoCs. Such petition was filed by mere usurpers and pretenders designed to mislead the public that they are authorized by the party to do such farcical acts, ” Barbo said.
“All their acts are unauthorized because they are led by non-members and they are in utter violation of the Party Constitution, ” he added.
Barbo said the petition is not only an act of gross misrepresentation but also a shrewd attempt to derail the electoral process.
“Do not allow such people illegally and idiotically acting as representatives of the PDP Laban to further destroy the party and the electoral process for their own selfish and evil ends,” he added.
