WVSU INVALIDATES ADMISSION TEST

/ 17 March 2024

THE Western Visayas State University has decided to invalidate its college entrance test, noting that the integrity of the exam has been tarnished.

WVSU said that “there is reason to believe that the integrity of the examination has been compromised,” based on its preliminary reports.

“While the administration has moved forward through this difficult decision, we assure the public that the ongoing investigation will continue to proceed to identify accountable individuals for this breach,” the university said in a statement.

“We empathize with the student examinees and their families for the inconvenience this has created. With that we express our sincerest apologies,” it added.

The WVSUCAT 2023 will be rescheduled at a later date, which the administration will announce details of soon.

A formal communication from the admission committee of WVSU will be sent to the students for the rescheduling of the exam.

The university also said that retaking the examination is fair and will help eliminate “undue advantage for specific individuals who may have benefitted from the leaked examination items.”
