UST PROFESSOR APPOINTED TO CHED’S TECHNICAL PANEL FOR MUSIC

A PROFESSOR from the University of Santo Tomas has been appointed to a four-year term as a member of the Commission on Higher Education’s Technical Panel for Music.

Associate Professor Antonio P. Africa, PhD, former Dean of the Conservatory of Music, was appointed to the role, according to the UST website.

Africa will serve from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2028.

In a post, Africa expressed his excitement to contribute to the program’s roadmap, ensuring it remains responsive and relevant to the needs of institutions.

UST noted that its Conservatory of Music, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, is recognized as a Center of Excellence by CHED.

Under Africa’s leadership, the Conservatory successfully navigated the pandemic while also introducing new programs and specializations, such as Music Technology.
