USC STUDENTS JOIN EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN THAILAND

/ 21 February 2025

FIVE pharmacy students from the University of San Carlos recently participated in the Walailak University Exchange Program in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand.

Kylle Christian Dalman, Jayan Derika Lerion, Joanne Hofileña, Stella Amelia Migriño, and Tasha Marie Pongos attended laboratory classes as part of the program.

The group specializes in pharmacognosy, drug delivery, pharmaceutics, and social pharmacy, among other fields.

They also visited healthcare institutions such as Walailak University Hospital, Thasala Hospital, and Thachang Hospital, gaining firsthand exposure to Thailand’s healthcare system.

“The students gained valuable academic and cultural experiences while enhancing professional competencies, broadening global perspectives, and deepening their understanding of international pharmacy practices,” USC said.

Launched in 2023, the exchange program is now in its third year.

The students were accompanied by faculty members Catherine Ortega and Mae Quenie Pontanar.

As part of the program, the USC Department of Pharmacy will host students and faculty members from Walailak University in April 2025.
